When it comes to the traditional wedding attire for Yoruba couples, just expect to see glamour and style.

The Yoruba groom usually wears a “three-piece suit” made up of an Agbada, with a tunic called “Buba underneath, with a pair of trousers. He usually also wears a cap called “fila” and his outfit is usually made of “Aso Oke” fabric. Then he accessorizes with coral beads around his neck and wrists.

The Yoruba bride usually wears a top called “Buba” and ties a wrapper (sometimes a traditional wrap skirt) and carries a sash called “Ipele” on her shoulders. Then of course, she finishes her outfit with the signature “Gele” or headtie. She also accessorizes with jewelry which can be gold, silver, pearls or coral beads.
