13 Bold Ghanaian Brides in Kente Kaba and Slit Styles

Kente Kaba and Slit is a traditional Ghanaian attire that consists of two main components: the Kaba, which is the top piece, and the Slit, which is the skirt.

Kaba: The Kaba is a fitted blouse or peplum top with pleats that is usually made from colorful fabric like Ankara or Kente cloth.

In addition to having different necklines, such as a round, V-neck, or boat neck, it may have short or long sleeves.

Slit: The Slit is a long, flowing skirt that is typically made from the same Ankara or  Kente cloth as the Kaba.

It was created to be worn as a set with the Kaba. The Slit typically flares out as it descends to the ankles or floor, depending on personal preference, after being fitted at the waist.

It might have a straight cut or a faintly A-line shape. The Slit can be fastened with a fabric belt or worn without a waistband for a more secure fit.

In Ghana and among the Ghanaian diaspora, the Kente Kaba and Slit are worn together to create a sophisticated and culturally significant ensemble that is frequently worn for formal occasions, festivals, weddings, and special occasions.
