1. The best place to buy authentic Kente Cloth is directly from Ghana or from someone who has a Ghanaian supplier.

2. When buying Kente, take note that the authentic Kente fabric is hand woven from individual threads. Imitation fabrics that look like Kente are actually prints. 

3. Imitation Kente cloth are usually cheaper in cost. Another way to identify imitation Kente fabric is to check if the colours on the right and wrong side (of the same part) of the fabric are consistent.

Because authentic kente fabric is hand-woven the thread will be consistent on the opposite side. However, imitation kente cloth will likely show a different color because it is printed.
