10 Things You Should Know About Frederick Leonard

1. Frederick Leonard’s full name is ‘Frederick Nnaemeka Leonard’.
2. Frederick was born May 1st and comes from Anambra State in South Eastern Nigeria.
3. He is the first of two boys born to father, Mr. Ositadinma Leonard, and mother, Mrs. Josephine Ogochukwu Leonard.
4. Starting out as a model, he made his debut in Nollywood in 2001, but was in and out of acting till 2008.

5. Frederick had his big break in 2013, starring in a lead role in the movie “Accident” alongside Chioma Akpotha. This role landed him the GIAMA award for best actor in 2014.

6. Frederick has worn several awards from the Pink Awards ‘Actor of the Year’ in 2019 to Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards 2018,TINFF, Nigeria Achievers Awards, AFRIMMO, GIAMA, City People Awards, among others.

7. His Most Challenging role is the one he played Jesus in the Nollywood movie ‘Our Jesus Story’:

“My portrayal of Jesus is and will be my most challenging role as an actor. I don’t think any other role can surpass playing the Son of God.
The job was more difficult because everyone knows the story and we had to be careful, considering its value to humanity.

What we did was tell the story from an African perspective. And it was a humbling experience. I went into prayers, everyday on set, because I didn’t think I was gifted enough to do it and Jesus held my hand.

We were able to pull the audience in: those who attended the premier were impressed. I am praying that when the movie begins to show in Cinemas, hearts will be ministered to and people will make Him their Lord and acknowledge His relevance in our everyday lives.

8. Frederick is an introvert, he lives a very quiet life, so you would hardly ever see him at a party.

9. He has zero tolerance for people who lack respect, and has very little patience for mediocrity, so he takes his job very serious. He doesn’t go a day without asking himself how he spent his 24hrs.

10. He is a strong Christian and is quite principled with high moral values.
