8 South African Celebrities in African Inspired Styles

Avatar Anita
September 5, 2022

Celebrity fashion and trends have always had a big impact on how people dress. Celebrities from Africa have a history of creating trends that the general populace later adopts. Social media has greatly increased the market for clothing with celebrity-inspired designs.

Celebrity fashion is the term used to describe the most popular styles that these people are known for, particularly in terms of their appearance, way of life, accessories, makeup, and hairstyle. A distinct and frequently ongoing trend in how people present themselves is referred to as fashion. Celebrities frequently alter their wardrobes to reflect the newest fashions.

The designers and fashion houses that create these clothes are often based in South Africa. The fashion industry in South Africa is a thriving industry that has been growing for decades.

In this article, we’ll focus specifically on the African-inspired clothing worn by South African celebrities.

With a dash of European mix, we present Phindile Gwala wearing one-arm shweshwe or dresses with African prints. Nandi Madida, Minnie Dlamini, Kgomotso Christopher, Unathi, and others are also featured, all of whom are dressed in Xhosa-inspired or Zulu-inspired attire.

Enjoy!
