Meet Buhle Samuels aka Zandile Of etv’s Soapie – Imbewu ‘The Seed’

Imbewu ‘The Seed’s’  new act, Buhle Samuels, is a South African actress and TV personality best known for her role as Matshidiso on Muvhango, SABC2 soapie. 

Born May 25, 1990 in Soweto, Buhle grew up in Pretoria North, Gauteng, with her older sister, Mbali Samuels and her mum who is a nurse in Saudi Arabia.

Buhle previously hosted the breakfast show on Africa Magic, an M-Net owned channel, before rising to prominence in 2014, when she was cast as Matshidiso Mofokeng on the SABC 2 flagship soap opera, Muvhango.

In 2015 at the 2nd Annual Royalty Soapie Awards, she was nominated for “Best Newcomer” for her portrayal of Matshidiso Mofokeng on Muvhango, she however lost to Izak Davel who plays the role of Bradley Haines on SABC 3’s Isidingo.

On January 8, 2019, 28yr old Buhle Samuels, made her onscreen debut on etv’s Imbewu ‘The Seed’ as Zandile. Her character is set to cause a huge stir in the Bhengu household during Zimele’s rebound phase, after the family secret was revealed. 

According to the soapie’s Executive Producer, Molefi Lebone:

“We are excited to have Buhle on the show. She is a talented actress who will add value to the show.” 

And who is Buhle’s ideal man?

“My ideal man, however, is a down-to-earth, ethical guy. He has to be respectful and kind.”
