How Do You Care for Wax Printed Fabric? 7 Tips

1. Best temperature for washing African Print fabric (which is cotton) is 40°C. African prints are likely to shrink by 5% after the first wash.

2. Always wash your print fabric separate from other clothing. If you have more than one print outfit to wash, group them according to colours (light separate from dark colours). During washing African print fabric lose some of their colour.

3. Make sure you turn your print outfit inside out before you begin the washing.

4. Do NOT rub or scrub the fabric while washing, do NOT wring or twist, rather squeeze by making a ball with your hands. You may tumble dry the fabric at low temperature. You may allow mild dry cleaning for your print outfit.

5. Do not bleach your African print outfit.

6. After washing, dry your print outfit in a shaded area. Do not expose the fabric to direct sunlight as this will cause it to fade.

7. When ironing, do it on the reverse side of your fabric.
