The Xhosa traditional attire is usually made from Umbhaco which is 100% cotton.
The original Umbhaco (Imibhaco) was a brown skirt with five rows of black strips separated by beaded rows of buttons.
These days the Umbhaco fabric is usually white with black stripes with embroidery and beadwork in between, though you can still see other colours like orange and blue with black stripes.
A lot of fashion designers have become really creative coming up with modern Umbhaco styles for brides, couples, weddings and regular events.
